// Seaside, Florida Engagement Photographer// Daisy + Matt. They. Are. THE BEST. Couple. EVER! When we met for their Engagement Session at Seaside, Florida we found friends! The energy and personalities of these two are so positive and fun! Just look at their photos! You can find this couple’s wedding blog post here! The wedding was at the gorgeous Watercolor Resort.
So, why do we encourage our couples to do engagement photos? It really has to do with 3 main things:
- Creating beautiful portraits
- Practice being in front of the camera and feeling comfortable
- Getting to know each other, so you know your wedding photographer and their personality AND for your wedding photographer to know yours!
Well, the first thing is easy – beautiful portraits of this stage of your relationship are gonna remind you about amazing pre-married time! You will use the images for save the date cards, announcements, Sign-in Reception books, etc
Why do we want for you to practice? The reason is simple, since we have the whole hour or more during your engagement photo session, we will have more time to ease you into the photography posing that we call “directional posing”. It has nothing to do with old stiff posing you’ve heard of. It is the prompts for you to do something sweet so you can fall into your own patterns with each other while we capture your real smiles, hugs and cuddles! During the wedding, sometimes the timeline allows us for only 15 minutes with the couple OR even LESS when something is running late. So, in some cases it becomes crucial you know what we are about to do as a sped up version of your engagement session!
But, you say, we don’t need practice, we trust you! Great! Although, the third main thing is to GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER so you feel great and at ease when we are with you all day on the Wedding Day!
Now, back to Daisy and Matt’s engagement photos! Enjoy!
