// 30a Wedding Photographer | Rosemary Beach Wedding // Jay said “I’ll never do it!” and he did it! Jay, our groom, was tearing up on his wedding day, first when he saw his beautiful bride Maddy at their First Look, and then during the wedding ceremony at the Town Hall in Rosemary Beach! Such a sweet and happy couple whose love shines through! Everything was perfect on their Wedding Day, from little personalized details, to gorgeous flowers provided by Florals by the Sea to delicious food by Townsend Catering to fun filled party planned and coordinated by It’s a Shore Thing Weddings! The moral of the story – Never Say Never! You are married now! Congrats!!!

Now, let’s talk about the First Look.. Do you guys know what it is? A lot of people have an idea, but let me tell you what we mean by that and what it means for the timeline!

First Look is an opportunity for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony! Plain and simple! Usually, when we work with planners, we designate about 15-20 minutes to have enough time to bring you together and for you to have that First Look!

Pros:

  1. The couple goes through a lot of emotions on the day of the wedding, so the wait to see each other is actually stressful on it’s own! Seeing each other privately, before everyone else gets to see you at the ceremony, gives relief and takes you off the edge. You will be way happier and calmer at the actual ceremony!
  2. From the photography and videography standpoint, we get to witness and capture the sweetest moment ever for our couple – seeing each other all dressed up and beautiful for the first time on the Big Day! We see LOVE! We document cuddles, kisses, TEARS of joy… These are the moments of happiness you’ll never forget! But, you say, we will see each other during the ceremony for the first time! Well, yes! But, in case of the First Look, you can do so very intimately without 150 pairs of eyes watching you! Also, this is another opportunity for us to get some portraits of two of you in a different location!
  3. Once the First Look is done, we can move on to do the Bridal Party and Family formals. Now, since you already saw each other, majority of these can be done before the ceremony, so you, the couple, can enjoy most of the cocktail hour with your guests!

Cons:

  1. Really, it’s not even a con, but here it is: if you are a traditional couple and would NOT want to see each other before the ceremony, you don’t have to! We will just help you with timeline to make sure we have enough time for Bride & Groom photos, family formals, and bridal party photos after the ceremony!

Now! Let’s get back to Jay and Maddy’s wedding, so you can see how their First Look went!
